Queued up to order my food. They had two separate lines. One queue was for dining in customers and one queue was for take away. They paused the queue for dining in temporarily cause they said there is no more indoor seats. They asked whether we wanted an outdoor seat and I declined as it was too hot for me, being heavily pregnant and all. I was with my mum and dad. They took our order and I told the staff managing the floor (with a short bun right at the top of her head) that I will wait for a seat indoor. She said 要等要排外面。So I proceeded to wait at where she pointed while observing how a single diner occupies a table for 4, and how many diners are seated around with empty drinks and plates but not politely told to leave though there was a long queue of people waiting for seats. The only thing I kept hearing was the staff shouting “要做，做外面”. And then, as I was still waiting for a seat at where the lady pointed me to wait, this other customer just ended her turn from the cashier and proceeded to sit at a table at just the right point in time when the customer stood up. I tried to approach the staff saying I was waiting for the table at where she told me too (not to add I was 9 months pregnant and already waiting for quite some time). But what I got was a shocking reply “是这样的。要做，去外面做。没人要去外面做。 So what was the point in me queuing up for a seat indoor at the designated spot where she shoo-ed me too? This is a drastic service from heartland mall’s Heartland Mall, where the staff will try to appoint seat according to who is queuing and the number of people in each group. They try to designate big tables for groups of four and smaller tables for smaller groups of people. Not just parade around shouting that if you want to sit, sit outside, while ignoring everyone who is just sitting down with their empty cups, last bite of bread and on their laptop. Plus ignoring those who are queuing up for an indoor seat at where you designate them to queue at and then leaving them stranded and helpless with your same statement over and over again. If that’s all the staff is capable of saying, I would say, a radio on replay and a selfservice tray return station would suffice as replacement.And because my parents had already ordered the food and was standing around waiting for a table as well- yes we went outside to sit. Cause I have had enough and wanted nothing more than to quickly finish the food and to not step foot in this outlet anymore.
